Environmental, bio and land artists will be invited annually to produce a site-specific installation, so the “event” at Grosvenor Square will constantly renew itself providing a renew experience for visitors. We proposed the garden to become the art piece itself. In this way the garden will become more important, the centrepiece of a large public space, as it clearly differentiates from the surrounding. We proposed unifying the public space surrounding the garden with a single public surface, from corner to corner, of one consistent material. Our proposal aims to restore urban clarity in the square.
We focused on clarifying the urban identity of the space and creating an urban event to make the square a destination. We took on the challenge, Grosvenor set in their competition, of “re-imagining” Grosvenor Square.
